Adães Bermudes School
Trancoso
Trancoso
Old primary school for girls of the parish of S. Pedro, it is enrolled in the “Adães Bermudes” type of school, a reference to the architect responsible for the project that, in 1898, won the public tender for the design of buildings for primary education and which, in 1900, was awarded the Gold Medal at the Paris Universal Exposition. The Trancoso school follows the most simple model of the projected school types, being composed of a ground floror classroom and a two-storey dwelling for the teacher. It was built between 1905-12 and served as a school until the early 1960s.
