The house of the Governor of Sortelha municipality was built in the 15th or 16th century and occupied later. It is quadrangular and has two storeys. The main façade has a cornice and straight lintels with no frame, demonstrating classicist influences. There is one framed oriel window with side brackets. The storeys were used for different purposes; the lower one for stores, with a kitchen and a fireplace and a paved floor and a built-in cupboard and a niche topped by a cross. There is a well in the yard.
