Castelo Novo

This wine press dates back to the 7th and 8th centuries and testifies to the region’s first wine-making. The Lusitanians, a people of age-old Celtic traditions, used to make beer from barley. The Romans introduced large-scale vineyards and Lagariça is a legacy from those times. It consists of two tanks, the larger for grape trampling and the smaller for collecting the must.
