This is a very large and sombre manor, with an attached chapel that is unfinished on the inside. It was built in the second half of the 19th century at the initiative of Dr. António Joaquim Moutinho de Andrade, following a fire that broke out in the house existent at the time, in which his two daughters died. The new building made use of the old building and expanded it, and in its construction stones were used from the extinct churches of São João Extra-muros and São Tiago and from one of the towers of the city wall
