Castelo Rodrigo

The northernmost Torre Albarrã known in Portuguese territory. It was a tower protruding from the wall connected by a footbridge and representing a military system introduced in the Iberian Peninsula by the Muslims, with the original function of constituting a watchtower and reinforcing the defense of the walls through the angle thus created.
